Safe Water in Schools and Homes (S.W.I.S.H.)

Misamis Oriental—A project to provide clean, potable water to schools and barangays is underway courtesy of the Rotary Club of Cagayan de Oro Premier. In July 2017, the beginning of the Rotary year, RC CDO Premier members discussed the possibility of expanding Rotary International District 3870’s impact for water and sanitation. The goal was to provide clean water, sanitation, and hygiene so that locals, especially children, can lead healthier, more successful lives. On Friday, 8 September 2017—two months later—the club installed the first water filter. Silid Aralan Toy and Book Donation

The Rotary Club of Cagayan de Oro Premier furnished Silid Aralan Inc.'s first learning hub in Mindanao with a number of educational toys and games. Additional toys and books were also collected by club members over the course of a few weeks and turned over to the organization at their launch in Cagayan de Oro City. Silid Aralan Inc. (SAI) is a non-profit organization in the Philippines that aims to give low performing, underprivileged students confidence in their own capabilities as a means of affecting their academic performance for the better.

All-out Fiesta Blow-out

Cagayan de Oro City—The Rotary Club of Cagayan de Oro Premier is focused on raising funds to support its various community service programs and initiatives for the Rotary year 2017-2018. In line with this, and in time for the city fiesta, the club held All-out Fiesta Blow-out, an appliance showcase raffle fundraiser wherein for only Php100.00, anybody can contribute to Rotary’s mission of doing good in the world and get a chance to win home appliances. RC CDO Premier began selling tickets at the end of July. The grand draw took place Thursday, 31 August 2017, in time to close out the fiesta season. Rotary Club of Cagayan de Oro Premier Welcomes New Members

People are constantly seeking new ways of helping others and most prefer to do it with other like-minded people. Four individuals recently found the ideal and collective way to reach that goal. Krisha June Burgos, Kristina Marie Carangcarang, Maria Jennifer Precious “Tootsie” Gaston, and Kristine Rosary “Krey” Yuzon-Chaves were welcomed as new members of the Rotary Club of Cagayan de Oro Premier during a brief induction ceremony at a club meeting held on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at Sentro 1850, Don. A. Velez Street, Cagayan de Oro City. During the ceremony led by club President Marion Hazel Du, Krisha, Kristina, Tootsie and Krey were asked to stand with the club members who sponsored them.
