Rotary International District 3870 Holds Induction and Turn-over Ceremonies

 

Malaybalay, July 6, 2024 – The Rotary International District 3870 held its Induction and Turn-over Ceremonies on the evening of July 6, 2024, in conjunction with the Induction and Turn-over of the Rotary Club of Malaybalay. The event took place at the newly opened event venue, La Terraza by Loiza's, attracting Rotarians and guests from various parts of the district.



The evening marked a significant transition for the Rotary Club of Malaybalay, with Alma Perlita Reyes stepping down as president and Aida Loveres, who previously served as president in 2021-22, taking on the role once more. The induction ceremony was graced by the presence of the mayor of Malaybalay, Atty. Jay Warren Pabillaran, who served as the inducting officer for the District Governor. Following the induction, Mayor Pabillaran was himself inducted as an honorary member of the Rotary Club of Malaybalay. Past District Governor Manuel "Manny" Along, also an honorary member of the club, was the charging officer for the mayor's induction.



Among the attendees was Assistant Rotary Coordinator Past President Maria Teresa Sarraga-Malawani, representing the Rotary Club of Cagayan de Oro Premier. Her presence underscored the collaborative spirit and unity among the various clubs within District 3870.


The program commenced promptly at 4:30 PM with the invocation, followed by the singing of the national anthem and the introduction of dignitaries and guests. The highlight of the evening was the induction of the new District Governor of Rotary International District 3870, Hubert Quiblat. Upon his induction, Governor Quiblat inducted the new officers of the Rotary Club of Malaybalay, who were charged by District Governor Elect Marlowe Selecios of the Rotary Club of Metro Valencia.


Adding to the evening's significance, three new members were inducted into the Rotary Club of Malaybalay. These new members were charged by District Governor Nominee Maureen Cacabellos and inducted by Governor Quiblat, reflecting the club's commitment to growth and community service.


The evening also featured an inspiring speech by Mayor Pabillaran and a motivational address by District Governor Quiblat. Following these speeches, attendees enjoyed a dinner, during which the Rotary Club of Malaybalay presented awards to distinguished members and contributors. The program concluded with the adjournment, marking the end of a memorable and successful event.


The Induction and Turn-over Ceremonies exemplified the Rotary spirit of service above self, highlighting the dedication of its members to their communities and the seamless transition of leadership within District 3870.
