Rotary Club of Cagayan de Oro Premier Supports Brigada Eskwela at Lourdes Elementary School

July 29, 2024, Talid-Talid, Dominorog, Talakag, Bukidnon - The Rotary Club of Cagayan de Oro Premier, in collaboration with the Pyramid Foundation, successfully conducted a Brigada Eskwela outreach at Lourdes Elementary School. The initiative, spearheaded by Project Chair IPP Arrissa Navarro and Food Lead Tring Sarraga, focused on providing essential school supplies and support as part of Rotary International's Basic Education and Literacy area of focus.

Brigada Eskwela is an annual event where public schools receive donations and voluntary help for cleanup and repairs to prepare classrooms for the new school year. This year, Rotary Club members gathered at Milestone Coffee Uptown at 6:30 am before traveling to the school to lend their support.

The club distributed backpacks filled with necessary school supplies to students in grades 1-6, ensuring they were equipped for their studies. The joy and excitement on the children's faces were heartwarming as they received their new materials.

In addition to school supplies, the children enjoyed snacks from New Leaf Bread and refreshing Zesto Juice Packs, adding a sweet touch to their day. The Rotary Club members shared a hearty humba lunch, lovingly prepared by IPP Arrissa Navarro, which fostered camaraderie and team spirit among the volunteers.

Participating in the event were President Nielgem Beja, who attended with her husband Krestony Atay, IPP Arrissa Navarro, Mikaela Briones, and new members Jena Morales, Rowena, and Michael Adame. Their collective efforts and dedication played a crucial role in the success of the outreach program.

This Brigada Eskwela initiative highlights the Rotary Club of Cagayan de Oro Premier's commitment to service and community support, echoing Rotary International's mission to enhance Basic Education and Literacy.
