Rotary Club of Cagayan de Oro Premier Kicks Off New Rotary Year with Energizing First Meeting

Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines - The Rotary Club of Cagayan de Oro Premier ushered in the new Rotary Year with a vibrant and productive meeting on a rainy evening at 8thspresso Cafe in Nazareth. The meeting, presided over by now President Nielgem "Em-em" Beja, marked the beginning of an exciting chapter for the club.

President Beja was accompanied by her husband, Krestony, who provided invaluable moral support throughout the evening. The meeting was kept on track and well-informed thanks to Secretary Krisha June Burgos, who diligently updated the group chat, ensuring all members were apprised of ongoing discussions and decisions.

A notable highlight of the evening was the revival of the Premier Times, the club’s weekly bulletin. After a hiatus of several years, the return of the Premier Times was met with enthusiastic approval from the members, symbolizing a renewed commitment to communication and engagement within the club.

The club was delighted to welcome guests Michael and Rowena Adame, a dynamic couple considering membership. Demonstrating their commitment and enthusiasm, the Adames actively participated in discussions and even volunteered to lead committees for an upcoming project, showcasing the spirit of service that Rotary embodies.

The meeting also saw the attendance of Assistant Rotary Coordinator Maite Sarraga-Malawani’s family. Her husband, Rotarian Armen Malawani, and their son Xavi were present, emphasizing the importance of family within the Premier community. The club has long been a proponent of involving families in its activities, fostering a sense of unity and support among members.

The meeting commenced promptly at 7:00 pm, despite the inclement weather, reflecting the dedication and resilience of the club members. The cozy ambiance of 8thspresso Cafe provided a perfect setting for the members to discuss plans, share ideas, and strengthen their bonds.

As the Rotary Club of Cagayan de Oro Premier looks forward to a year filled with service and camaraderie, the first meeting has set a positive tone. With enthusiastic leadership, engaged members, and a supportive community, the club is well on its way to making significant strides in service and fellowship in the year ahead.
