Rotary Club of Cagayan de Oro Premier and Pyramid Foundation Partner for Second Brigada Eskwela Project of 2024-25 at Sanggaya Elementary School
Talakag, Bukidnon—August 14, 2024—Continuing its mission to uplift education in remote areas, the Rotary Club of Cagayan de Oro Premier, in partnership with the Pyramid Foundation, successfully conducted its second Brigada Eskwela project for the Rotary year 2024-25 at Sanggaya Elementary School in Barangay Dominorog, Talakag, Bukidnon.
The project was spearheaded by Immediate Past President (IPP) Arrissa Navarro with active participation from President Nielgem Beja, Rotarian Kara Evangelista, and prospective members Jefferson Obsioma and Melissa Baculio. The volunteers provided essential school supplies to 318 students from grades 1 to 6, ensuring that they are well-equipped for the upcoming academic year.
Sanggaya Elementary School, nestled in a remote area two hours away from the main highway, posed significant logistical challenges due to its undeveloped and bumpy roads. Despite these difficulties, the team persevered, driven by their commitment to make a meaningful impact on the students' lives.
The success of the project was also due to the crucial role played by Rotarian Clarifhel Sarsaba, who was responsible for purchasing the supplies in Manila and coordinating their shipment to Cagayan de Oro. Her meticulous planning and dedication ensured that all materials were delivered on time, making the outreach possible. The club extends its heartfelt thanks to Rotarian Sarsaba for her enormous contribution.
The partnership with the Pyramid Foundation further strengthened the project, providing additional resources and support that were instrumental in reaching the school's needs. This collaboration is a testament to the power of partnerships in achieving greater outcomes for the community.
This Brigada Eskwela project highlights the Rotary Club of Cagayan de Oro Premier's unwavering commitment to "Service Above Self" and its dedication to enhancing educational opportunities in underserved communities. The club, together with its partners, remains steadfast in its mission to support schools in remote areas, ensuring that students receive the resources they need to thrive academically.
