The Rotary Club of Cagayan de Oro Premier held its second regular meeting for Rotary Year 2026-27 on July 31, 2026, at Max's Restaurant, SM CDO Downtown Premier, a venue the club is likely to continue using for its regular meetings. President Mae Grace Siao presided over the meeting, while Action Group 1 was assigned to the program. Director Rose Lumacang served as program coordinator.
The meeting welcomed 13 regular members and two prospective members, Mae Empedrad and Ricarr Chiong, who joined the club to learn more about Premier's activities and fellowship.
Secretary and Treasurer reports provided updates on the club's operations and finances. Members were pleased to learn that 19 members have already fully paid their annual dues, reflecting a strong start to the new Rotary year. The club also discussed attendance and the different ways members can make up missed meetings while remaining active and engaged.
Attention then turned to the club's calendar of service. Project heads presented updates on activities scheduled from August through October, including preparations for the club's Membership Orientation, Fun Run, and other upcoming service initiatives. Past Presidents Arrissa Navarro and Nielgem Beja were among the project heads who reported on the progress of their assigned activities, allowing members to coordinate responsibilities and timelines ahead of the busy months.
The club also looked ahead to opportunities for fellowship, with a pickleball open play and a beach party on the calendar. These activities are expected to give members additional opportunities to build friendships and strengthen the camaraderie that supports the club's service work.
With projects taking shape and fellowship activities planned, the meeting reflected the club's focus on thoughtful planning, active participation, and meaningful service as Rotary Year 2026-27 gains momentum.#
