Interact Welcomes 24 New Sign-ups at St. Mary's School Club Rally

St. Mary's School held its annual Club Rally on Friday, July 17, 2026, at 3:00 p.m., giving students the opportunity to explore the school's various organizations and discover new avenues for leadership and service. Among the featured organizations was the Interact Club of Cagayan de Oro Premier, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Cagayan de Oro Premier.
Representing the Rotary Club at the event were Public Image Chair Maria Teresa Sarraga-Malawani and volunteer Miggy Linaac, an alumnus of St. Mary's School and the son of Past President Mae Allyn Linaac. They introduced students to Interact and shared how the club helps young people develop leadership skills while serving their school and community.
The Interact Club of Cagayan de Oro Premier has called St. Mary's School home since its charter in 2017. Since then, Past President Maria Teresa Sarraga-Malawani has served as the club's adviser and trainer, mentoring generations of student leaders through service projects, leadership development, and Rotary values.
Among the club's flagship activities is its annual Leadership Training Program, where members build practical leadership skills through workshops and team-building activities. Outstanding participants are sponsored to attend the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA), giving them the opportunity to learn alongside young leaders from across the district. Interactors also take part in the annual Interact Awards, which recognize excellence in club service, leadership, and projects.
The annual Club Rally serves as the first step for students interested in joining extracurricular organizations. By the end of the event, 24 students had signed up to become part of the Interact Club, reflecting continued enthusiasm for service and leadership among the school's student body.
The Rotary Club of Cagayan de Oro Premier looks forward to welcoming the new members as they begin their Interact journey and continue the tradition of Service Above Self at St. Mary's School.#
