Polio Walk 2019
Cagayan de Oro City. – The Rotary Club of Cagayan de Oro Premier participated in the district-wide Polio Walk 2019 held last October 26, 2019 at Divisoria, Cagayan de Oro City. Over 80 members of the Family of Rotary District 3870 Zone 1 attended and participated in the event.
Before the walk started, a program was held at Kiosko Kagawasan, Divisoria. It was hosted by RC CDO Premier President Maite Sarraga and RC West CDO President Franco Catajoy. Part of the program was a short Zumba session where Rotarians were invited to participate in. This was led by the Rotary Club of Carmen Valley. Lastly, to shed more light on the recent status of polio in the Philippines, a talk about polio was given byDr. Loraine Jungco Nery, Acting City Health Officer of the Cagayan de Oro City Health Office.
The activity was another good opportunity to raise awareness about Polio and invite more people to take action. To ensure our generation and the generations to come of a Polio-free world, everyone needs to come together and participate in undertakings that aim to eradicate polio worldwide.
