RC CDO Premier Holds Skills Training

As a culmination of Basic Education and Literacy Month, the Rotary Club of Cagayan de Oro Premier hosted a Skills Literacy Training on Financial Report conducted by the club’s very own treasurer, Mae Allyn Linaac.

The term accounting is very common and some, if not most, people dread it. But how important is accounting? Not all people engage in entrepreneurship – a solid excuse for knowing nothing about it. The Rotary Club of Cagayan de Oro Premier wants in an effort to promote financial literacy to members, conducted a skills training on the subject. The training emphasized the key purposes of financial reports and analyses to businesses– be they large-scale or SMEs.

During the short yet productive activity, the club members were taught how to prepare a cash flow statement, income statement, and balance sheet. The financial data used were taken from the club’s activities in April 2019 which highlighted the blocked screening organized by the club for the Disney movie, the Lion King. The numbers and figures in the financial report showed everyone the success of the fundraiser and it gave insights on how to create better plans to maximize each of the member’s capabilities and boost the club’s productivity in future programs. The financial report is indeed very significant in making more informed decisions to continuously deliver and perform Rotary International’s mission.
