Justice League Blocked Screening

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY—The Rotary Club of Cagayan de Oro Premier hosted a special blocked screening of the Justice League Movie at SM Cagayan de Oro Downtown Premier Cinemas 3 and 4 on Thursday, 16 November 2017. Tickets were sold at ₱300 with the option to reserve a seat for an additional ₱50. All proceeds from the showing will go to funding the club’s projects for the Rotary year.

The highly-anticipated DC Comics crossover movie captures the story of Bruce Wayne who, fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman's selfless act, enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat.

Though the primary objective of the project was to raise funds for their various programs and initiatives, the organizers had another motive for screening the blockbuster. “The film weaves a story of individuals who use their unique abilities and resources to overcome devastating obstacles and give unselfishly to the community. Isn’t that what Rotary is all about?” said RC CDO Premier President, Marion Hazel Du.

“Our goal is to inspire everyone to band together, engage with the world, and make a difference,” said project chair Atty. Mylen Geroy. “As the poster insists, ‘You can’t save the world alone!’”

The film was screened in association with The Firm, Blackwater Philippines Security Solutions, Inc., Pyramid Consolidated Builders and General Merchandise and Cagalawan Enterprises.
